WHAT'S THE POINT?
The intention is to promote people who make beautiful music.
The intention is to introduce you to the people who have been carving their own path...with no care for what anybody thinks.
We try not to post things that are still for sale but sometimes post things that are not easily available. If you like what you hear, then find these people and tell them how great they are.
Better still, tell them and then seek out their new releases and buy them. We add links, when they are reliable and active, so that you can keep track if you so wish.
Always go straight to the artist or the label where possible. That way, the money goes straight to the people responsible for this art. These people rely on our support to keep going and make more quality releases!
Please feel free to leave comments as you go along...at least then we know you appreciate this stuff (or otherwise) and you're not just a bunch of freeloading file collectors.
If you made this music and we have pissed you off by posting any of this, please leave a comment in the post and the offending articles will be removed.

The amount of joy you have gave me!
Your blog is awesome!
Thank you!
Great Stuff, Thank You! Any chance for Randy Grief very early stuff, his fields recordings or Randy Greif & Alva Svoboda – "Easy Green Proof" or DRIFT-"Bypass Thru the Sky (Anna Homler, Brad Cooper, Randy Greif, and Atom Smith)cd? M
Man, lost this during my great garage flood of 2008.
Nice to finally have it back.
thx.
Early Randy Greif is something I've been wanting to hear for awhile also. I have his "Bacteria and Gravity" LP, but nothing from before that. Maybe someday Randy will start a Bandcamp page and offer his old music for sale as downloads?
My husband keeps a big box of old mailorder music catalogs. He has one for Swinging Axe that I suppose he got in the 90s. Now all I can do is point to that photocopied sheet of paper and say "Honey, look at all these tapes you did not buy when you had the chance to".
Thanks for your replay. Some of his early stuff is on internet already but probably You got it. Mr Greif is running bandcamp but only with one and present release. Maybe some people visiting this AMAZING blogspot may help? M
Hi M
Sorry I'm a bit late on this ... work gets in the way. I suppose it depends on what you call early, but I have everything pre-1994 except the Magnetic Spine Review tape (damn thing has always eluded me). Don't know what is on the internet already but ...
Don't have Easy Green Proof or Bypass Thru the Sky but if the things mentioned above is what you mean then yeah ...
oh and meant to say ...
Hi Ochyming!

Hey thanks so much for posting these albums the more people listen to this stuff the better!
You deserve a fine whiskey (or non alcoholic equivalent)!
Caligari:
ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!
LOVE THAT!
thanks, thanks thanks !!!!!!
I'm a bit late (only 8 years) from this thread... but I just happened upon it now and basking in the positive comments about those early releases of mine from the 80's. Yes, they've been very hard to find and out of print, but the good news is that Tribe Tapes has re-issued Golden Joy Club on CD, and are in the process now of re-issiung Lost Contact and The Shadow Traders. Perhaps more to come after these of some early cassette releases. Here's the link:

(btw... I'm still sonically plugging away so you can find a number of my albums from the past 5-6 years on Spotify and other streaming platforms. Happy listening!!
Cheers,
Randy Greif
