Felix Hess - Sasayaki

Felix used to be a nuclear physicist (might still be for all I know) who then started to make his own electronic instruments and "make" found-sound-art-sculptures.

Turn all of your devices off and go and lie down in a field (definitely not on a road) and listen, your brain will do the rest. There is music everywhere.

Hand-painted four CDr set in hand-made wooden box all of which Felix created with his own fair hand and had released by Edition Omega Point in Japan in 1999 in an edition of twenty five.

Various - The Residents Unmasked!

I'm not sure why the previously posted tape was thought to be necessary when this exemplary freak scene had preceded it.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water? Well, more fool you ... water is the enemy. At all times I am very dry and wear a steel helmet whilst wrapped in tin foil. Trust me ... it's worked so far which I would like to think is self-evident! I'm listening to this on your behalf so you can avoid the neural damage. Just thank THEE LORD for ME! and simply move on and procreate, there's a war coming soon and your progeny will be needed.

Triple C60 box set released on Ecto Tapes in 1995.

Various - The Residents Unmasked! 2

I'm not entirely sure where these came from but the later attribution of "partially unofficial" gives the game away. The vast majority was recorded waaaaay before 1995 and a fair amount seems to be scalped from other compilations. However, a more important proportion seems to come from a shout out to bedroom weirdos, home tapers and just freaks ... the kind who really do have a shrine of eyeballs that they consult before their daily ablutions. They can all sleep on my couch if they want ... they might just have to take turns (it's not a big couch). More tomorrow. That's both a promise and a threat.

C40 released on Ecto Tapes in 1995.

Various - Interchange Compilation

Randomly, here's a bunch of people presumably still floating around on this brexiting shithole that completely masquerades as a functioning democracy. Basically it's just a tiny bunch of people who come from an extraordinarily privileged public school educated (that's privately educated if you are unlucky enough to be in trumpville) chinless shitpumps protecting their reputation with papa and their business investments. Contempt is too good for them. Anyway. Sorry about that. Nothing to do with the tape at all.

This has a predominantly North-East of England noise thing going on with TNB, Metgumbnerbone, a couple of Mike Watson vehicles (Outside Bill and Small Palace Players) and a scattering of other British outsiders for company.

C90 that accompanied an edition of the short-lived Interchange magazine.

P16.D4 - Passagen

The two P16.D4 tracks on the Devastate To Liberate comp were mastered there at twice the intended speed. This was later corrected on the Tionchor LP from 1987 ... so I was going to post that. Then I remembered this magnificent collection that includes that release. It's long sold out and now changes hands for a huge amount of money. So, in for a penny ...

Brilliant six CD released on Monotype Records in 2012. It also came with a DVD and the label uploaded it so you can watch it whenever you like!

With a mid-Eighties compilation that is a fundraiser for the Animal Liberation Front, you would expect the likes of Annie Anxiety and Crass ... but P16.D4, Coil, Current 93, Nurse With Wound and Shock Headed Peters (who provide a cracking cover of The Residents' "Blue Rosebuds")? Great LP for a great cause.

LP released on Yangki in 1985.

Amongst the people here are P16.D4, Nurse With Wound, Mixed Band Philanthropist, Muslimgauze, O Yuki Conjugate, Enrico Piva and a completely pointless contribution from The New Blockaders (but I'm sure it's auntie art so it must be secretly brilliant apart from the fact that something more culturally valuable could have turned up here instead ... a recording of a fart in a bath full of water for instance).

LP released on Frux in 1985.

Well. Having thrown myself willingly into a maelstrom of football (no, it's not called soccer) induced alcoholic hallucinosis and generalised unbearable smugness, the former has now resolved to the point where I feel obliged to return to what I laughingly refer to as bizness.

So for your delectation or disgust, here's a great compilation of subterranean noise, strangled beats and weird tribal infused convolutions that appear designed to turn your head inside out ... Nox, Vox Populi!, Pacific 231, Atrophisme Interne Z, Denier Du Culte et cetera and so forth ...

va - ND 7

Oldsters like me will remember ND as one of the only sources for information about the noise underground in the days before the internet. Based in Texas (as you can tell from the cover of "N D 7"), ND was a magazine and label affiliated with a record shop in Austin. At the start, they made split cassettes that came inside little magazines. Then, they made magazines full of interviews and loads of contact information so that you could write away for catalogs and tapes. Eventually, they made CDs. "N D 7" was the seventh issue of ND, and it's a compilation cassette. A who's who of who-the-hell-are-these-people. Some names you'll recognize: Minoy, Die Form, Big City Orchestra, X-Ray Pop, The Haters, If Bwana, The Joke Project, Odal, Ideas Beyond Filth. Others are just as obscure in 2019 as they were in 1992: Booed Usic (actually tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE from balTimOre), Vittore Baroni (of Trax), K.U.Sch, Theater of Ice, and others.

This is still Philippe Blanchard ... he constantly expands my blown mind. To have all of these pieces of the jigsaw and combine them to create such art?
