Controlled Bleeding is one of my favorite bands. I've loved them since I was young, and I love them still today, just as much as ever. Never beholden to any genre, they have recorded harsh noise (some of the best anyone's ever made and I'll send my husband to fight anyone who doesn't agree), somber chamber music, industrial disco, doom metal, free jazz, electronic dub, dark drone, ethereal ambience, progressive rock, and whatever else they feel like doing at any time. Main bleeder
Paul Lemos' distinctive guitar tone is one of the only giveaways that any of these records are created by the same band. That's why I'm
thrilled to learn about
this upcoming 10 CD & BOOK SET on
Artoffact Records! You read that correctly: 10 CDs and an LP-sized bound book. No, of course I am NOT going to share that, because you should support the band and label by
BUYING it.
Because I'm so excited about this box set, I'm going to post a few albums that are definitely not reissued on this box or anywhere else, starting with a 1986 split LP on Arizona-based label
Placebo, with Arizona's own
Maybe Mental on the other side. Or perhaps it's
Maybe Mental on the first side,
Controlled Bleeding on the flip. Hard to say for sure. I suppose it doesn't matter, as long as you listen to it and then go support the band by
buying their in-print music. Do it now!
