Carlo has asked for the Chormborssie tape but in decades of buying, swapping, trading and sharing I have never even got close. Whilst he probably has this already, I thought I would post it anyway. This is the CD edition released on Dom in 2002 which includes the original LP released on Psychout in 1985 with three tracks released on three compilations in the same year, three previously unreleased tracks and two tracks from the Chormborssie tape. This is probably as close as I will ever get to hearing Chormborssie.

The image is from the acetate version of the LP as it is more pleasing than the others...

And with information nicked from Discogs: While creating the name for their band (around 1983), members had 2 choices left: HNAS (Hirsche Nicht Aufs Sofa) and Mieses Gegonge, and as P. Li Khan says "as we couldn't agree on one name for the then-imminent Abwassermusik LP, we choose both...leaving the listener alone with the guesses who MG were..."

Well, now you know...but you probably already did.

Workbench - Seeking Stasis 6-10

Workbench is the solo alter ego of Mike Bernstein, who is also 1/4 of Double Leopards and singer/guitarist for psych rock band Religious Knives. "Seeking Stasis 6-10" is a five-cassette box set on Bernstein's own Heavy Tapes, each side containing a synth figure that seems as if it began long before the artist hit "record" and will continue forever after the tape runs out. Most sides are (as the title clearly spells out) nearly motionless texture or a repeating pattern, though tape 4 gets a little wiggly. There's no emotion or drama (like fellow synth fiend Hive Mind) or virtuosic playing (like Thomas Lehn) but neither is the music too precious and austere (like Utah Kawasaki). The sounds are so rich, warm, and intriguing by themselves that they don't need to do much more than exist; variety would only get in the way. My suggestion would be to play each side on repeat and take an analog bubblebath for awhile.

Charles Hayward - Escape From Europe (Live In Japan Volume One)

Again released on Locus Solus in 1997. This is largely Charles drumming and singing which is a marvelous thing. It also features Charles with Akira Toyonaga, Makoto Nomura, Kohei Amano and Noriya Maekawa.

Although his history is extensive, Charles Hayward may be best known to some as a member of This Heat. In a timely fashion, Mr Zchivago has posted a shitload of related items ... go straight for the Deceit LP ...

This Heat shrugged off the confines of the (post) punk scene (as if they would have ever been influenced or cared) and created things that had never been heard before to rightly become one of the greatest bands ever.

Mr Hayward is a complete genius. He is one of the finest drummers ever and his singing voice compares. Political with a dry sense of humour and I love him to bits. I was lucky enough to see a spellbinding set of his a few years ago and I completely recommend the three live excursions presented here!
