I'm in the middle of ripping a big tape set that I have so I can post it here. It's taking a long time. Then I'll post it here on the filehost that I have paid for. I'm fucking broke and would rather be spending my time watching the "new" cats plan their attacks on each other in the back garden. I took in a pregnant stray ... Ruby, thanks for asking ... she gave birth to to five kittens. Sherman only got to 9 months old before some twat in a car killed her. The other four are approaching their first birthday in a couple of weeks. So far, it's a household of 8 (oh, and me). And, I sit here posting a shitload of my time into this void. When you think about it, why the fuck am I doing this shit? I'm actually a big boy and don't need vicarious validation.

I prefer Spike Milligan's eipthath of "I told you that I was ill". My demise will certainly be an 11 month old cat doing love rolls in front of me when I'm trying to safely navigate any environment? Harley btw, thanks for asking. Yeah, Inspector Harley on the staircase with the adorable head ... write that on my tombstone!

Has this really been thirteen and a half years (for me anyway). Most of me is ossifying so I can't blame my mojo for following suit. Don't actually know why I'm saying any of this ... a series of whoop whoop comments won't make any difference just like no comments would make me give anymore of a shit.

In silver cloud news, I'm off to see Swans tomorrow night ... the venue has the support listed as Norman Westbury (dickheads) ... obviously it's Norman Westberg doing his drone guitar thang. A pleasing circle for me as the first time I saw him play was about 35 years ago as a core member of Swans on their Children Of God tour (at the International at the top of Anson Road, still have the ticket somewhere). Blah fucking blah and suchforth

Anyway, this is another quality selection but I would suggest you just crack on.

The Henry & Hazel Slaughter Experience - Praying Mantis Brain

At the other end of the catalogue (and calm down, it's not the lingerie pages) lies this little jewel from John Olson. Sitting on the message board waiting for the next AmTapes release was frequently a "what do you mean it's gone, I didn't even blink" rollercoaster. Then there was the foreboding that there were only going to be another 15 releases left before the shutters were closed after AM999 (AM1000 was a party and my invite was lost in the post ... still waiting for the apology). Fuck me this is 10 years old. The policemen get younger and everything seems like yesterday ... all hail entropy!

Reynols - Sonirdo de lo Mofifero

This is Reynols as a six-piece from the previous century released on what is, I'm pretty sure, our favourite label ever! It's the best scrambled and roaring psychedelia that the finest Argentinian brown peyote can buy ... four warped tracks with the finale being the monumental three quarters of an hour that is Todo lo Solos Marmonio lo Cucu.

A CDr that was the 77th release on American Tapes in 1999.

Tori Kudo - Tori Kudo At Goodman 1984-1986

I've thought about this for quite a while. Obviously. there are two types of people: people that adore Tori Kudo and people that have wasted their lives thus far.

Yeah, the secret messiahs will always say that there is the third opinion but back in the room sheeples ... I know truth and stuff so please sell your houses and send me the money.

This is a set of nine CDs (there's a DVD as well but it's not included here). Whilst these are apprently live (as in with an audience present) it seems more like captured practices and private moments. It sometimes makes me feel like a voyeur but really he is just letting us see / hear things when (almost) nobody was there. But, then you get 33 minutes of "Rain Falling On A Paddy Field Already Full With Water Prior To Planting" that has Tori on piano, Masami Shinoda on alto, Yuzuru Makino on baritone and Koichiro Watanabe on violin ... and it remains intensely private. It's another fleeting glimpse into The Fifth Column and proto Maher Shalal Hash Baz hive mind.

Last Exit – Last Exit

It was with a heavy heart that I learnt of the passing of Peter Brötzmann on Thursday aged 82. An absolute titan of free jazz, both radical and revolutionary, he took the form into areas previously unthought of.

His legendary Last Exit quartet remains the only outfit that could give Borbetomagus a run for their money ... and then some!

Sometimes Discogs isn't entirely accurate ... I know ... who knew? It's something else entirely when the artist feels the need to correct the addition. A tough one to swallow that makes everyone else smirk ... cue instant karma.

Various - Tokyo Invasion Volume 1: Cosmic Kurushi Monsters

A cracking compilation featuring the likes of Musica Transonic, High Rise, Boredoms, Ground Zero, Vajra, Altered States, Keiji Haino, Ruins, Fushitsusha, Melt-Banana and a hell of a lot more. Yeah, there is nothing exclusive to the release but that doesn't stop it being a shitload of fun.

You also get artwork courtesy of Savage Pencil ... I'm pretty sure there was never a second volume so I guess this didn't sell too well at the time which prompts the age old question: "what's wrong with poeple?"

The Gerogerigegege - As If It Had Always Been Determined Since This Day Was Born

I've been meaning to post this for a while but have been too busy playing it on repeat. Gero gets filed away into an unfair niche largely due to some people's most regular contact being those releases containing Tetsuya Endoh's (ahem) artistic flourishes. It does Juntaro / them a massive diservice that any time spent with the wider discography amply demonstrates. This contains of a bunch of remixes and remasters that frankly could be seen as entirely new pieces of work ... amongst the tastefully manicured noise, there are even aspects that would fit in nicely with the good end of the C89 UK Indie crew.

CD released on いぬん堂 / Inundow (a great label more associated with Japanese punk and new wave) in October 2022. It even has the bonus CDr that was only available if you bought directly from Disk Union.

T. Mikawa - Cloud Carpet Bombing

Now here is an entire bathful of HOLY SHIT!

Obviously, it's Toshiji Mikawa and I'll assume that you know where you are. Even so, you won't have seen this coming. It's a set released in Japan consisting of a box containing one CD and two tapes. The tapes replicate what is on the disc. I don't actually own this yet so you will have to cope with only having the rip of the CD. When I get my hands on a physical copy, I'll rip the tapes and put them up as well. Nerdtastic aspirations right there just for you.

This has genuinely surprised and excited me more than I thought possible. I've played this on rotation for the past couple of weeks and still can't translate it into the usual bollocks that I spout on here. This is genuinely special!

Released on Takuya Sakaguchi's Neurec label in 2022. There is a CD only version that raises it's head infrequently but I'm pretty sure that is not "authentic".

Masayuki Takayanagi and Akira Iijima on guitar and Hiroshi Yamazaki on all manner of Satan's bongos. Recorded live at Kid Ailak Hall on August the 14th, 1983."

Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing

The original LP was released in 1982 before being repressed in Japan the following year. There was the odd decision to add the State Violence State Control 7". It's odd because Side A of the single starts off Side A of the LP ... the same with the reverse. I would assume it is the maintain the track structure whilst simultaneously making the idea redundant. There have been two Japanese CD reissues that follow the same structure ... this is the second one.

The Gerogerigegege - Nothing To Hear / Nothing To...1985

This is a good old harsh noise opus recorded on the 23rd of October, 1985. If the title doesn't riff on Discharge's "Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing" LP then Juntaro is just telling fibs.

From the label's insert: "We are experimental/noise music fans in Taipei, Taiwan. Because it was very hard to obtain any information about this kind of music here, we self published our small fanzine 'NOISE' from 1993. We try to contact unusual music workers and introduce them to Taiwanese fans. We hope to introduce more unusual music to Taiwanese fans and Juntaro (The Gerogerigegege) hope his work can be released in Taiwan. But it is impossible to find any Taiwanese record company to do a cd release for The Gerogerigegege. We do it ourselves with Juntaro's help. We don't have the government's approval to release cds, so the cd pressing company insisted wanting us to print 'PROMOTION ONLY' on the cd to avoid any trouble. This 'Nothing To Hear/Nothing To ...1985' cd is limited numbered edition of 500. When it sold out, we will not re-release it anymore."
