Impregnable - Consumption

This is a curiosity in the Impregnable canon of short and sharp releases. I've always thought that this 50 minute blast was a way of working through ideas and then realising that the longer form simply constrained his ideas. Obviously, that's pure conjecture on my part. It wasn't intended for release, but whaddya know ... it slipped out anyway. I, for one, am glad it did!

Single sided C100 released on Lame Cunts Imagination in 2005.

XX Committee - Steel Negro Music

Bravo to Trash Ritual! They had a nearly-flawless run of nasty noise cassettes by unsavory brutes from around the world, but their choice of reissues made it clear that they knew their history. This 2011 CD reissue of an obscure but excellent (if unfortunately-titled) 1982 cassette might be TR's crowning achievement. Maybe you've never heard of the band, but you've surely heard of band member Scott Foust, who would go on to helm the astounding Idea Fire Company and the Swill Radio label. Marvel at the synthetic thumps and metal-shearing industrial thud contained within. An influence on Trash Ritual, an artifact of early 1980s cassette noise, and a terrific album on its own.

Laxative Souls - Twist and Decease/Desinfektionsraum (The Definitive)

Another of Trash Ritual's major reissues was this terrific double CD set by Italian industrial band Laxative Souls. What were initially cassettes released on Multiple Configuration in 1982 and 1983 are dusted off and given digital polish for the kids. Excellent.
