An early title by the magnificent Blake Edwards/Vertonen, released as a CDR by Self Abuse sub-label Solipsism in 1999. Includes this dryly hilarious misdirection in the liner notes: Tracks 7-9 previously recorded as the "3 Hits From Hell" 7" on Plan 9 (first pressing of 10,000 copies in April 1981 ; second pressing of 800 copies in spring 1986) ; original track titles were "London Dungeon", "Horror Hotel" & "Ghouls Night Out".

va - Solipsism 22

The 22nd (duh) album on Self Abuse's CDR division, Solipsism, released in an edition of 100 copies in 1999. When these came out, I remember disliking the label's inkjet covers and poor design. Time has been kind to Solipsism, though. Looking at it from 2017, it's a strong catalog of noise by both somewhat-known and still-obscure artists from Japan, Australia, Finland, Denmark and the USA. This particular comp focuses on lesser-known bands: Agit8, Antenna 59, Expose Your Eyes, Kummerlige Forhold, Marquis Konspirator, Mono, Mutagen, Nitza, Oedipus Flex, Tadayuki Miura, and The End.

Released as a limited-to-100-copies CDR in 1997 by Solipsism, a CDR-only sublabel of Self Abuse Records, this is a compilation of harsh noise collaborations. Each track features one artist using sounds from someone else. Aube makes a track out of Blazen y Sharp source material, Blazen y Sharp makes a track out of Smell & Quim's source material, Hyware makes a track out of OVMN's source material, and so on. Other pairings include Rotten Piece/Cock ESP, Macronympha/Pain Jerk, Smell & Quim/Hanged Man's Orgasm, MSBR/Hyware, Cock ESP/Iugula-Thor, Crawl Unit/Aube, Skin Crime/MSBR, Hanged Man's Orgasm/Crawl Unit, and Sukora/Rotten Piece.
