Solmania - The Basement Tapes And Discs

Ten years ago this week I foolishly started this blogging malarkey and initially thought I'd do it for a couple of months ... and here we are.

This is in the Holy Grail territory of reissue compilations. The first five discs cover the CDs released on Alchemy Records between 1990 and 1998. The next four include eight of the impossible to find Fatagaga Tapes released between 1984 and 1987.

As if that isn't good enough, four of the six live performances on the DVD hadn't been released previously (those files are large and they all need to be extracted to their own single folder in order to work).

Nine CDs and a DVD released on Youth Inc. in 2013.

01 Metamorphor Chorus

02 Psycledelic

03 Trembling Tongues

04 Evil Bed

05 DLO

06 Gakinoizz / Hadayro

07 Vexation / H.C.P. Resolvent

08 Wörkenemy / Re-Rurr

09 Highdrophobia / Erosion

10 Movies - Live And Rare

Thanks for all that you do!! Certainly one of the best blogs of this sort...and here, now, in a time when most seem to have forgotten the blog. The waning of rare/limited *object* fetish (00s, esp) has weeded out so many...pure sonics, and historical inquiry, remain, however. Bye to the tourists! xo

Just wanted to echo the comments of others: I really can't describe how enriched my life has been because of the music you've shared. I am incredibly grateful. Thank you so much. Can't believe it's been 10 years, happy anniversary!

I tried my hand at blogging several years ago and I really appreciate all the, usually unseen, hard work that goes into it. Thank you.

You have overdone yourself once again .. don't remember Solmania being quite some noisy on comps .. I am waiting to get a tooth pulled, short on pain meds and living on downloads from Bleak Bliss .. know you're not into reupping posts, but hoping to try more Date Course Pentagon Royal Garden .. Frank Kaka, Structure et Force, and or Report from Iron Mountain ... you seem to be about the only western speaking (correction western typing person on the internet who has ever heard of them

thanks no matter what

my favorite video of solmania is on youtube.
he's setting up, there's a cat photobombing the video, but once he plugs in, the cats gone...
always chuckles watching it.
thanks fella.
