Deux Pingouins - Animal Mal

Richard and Linda Thompson... Sonny and Cher... John and Yoko... the musical tradition of married couples making music together is long and deep and now you can add Jean-Philippe and Sylvie Martineau Fee to that list of greats. Taking time off from their main group DDAA, the Fees here are just a couple of penguins. Not terribly far afield from their main gig. This 1988 cassette was the first release under this band name, released by their own Illusion Productions label.

va - TRAX 0983 Anthems

Classic LP of new national anthems compiled by media artist and music critic Vittore Baroni in 1983. Features patriotic songs by bands from around the world (but mostly Italy): Naif Orchestra, Merzbow, Van Kaye & Ignit, 001... Cancer, P16.D4, No Night Sweats, Renaldo & the Loaf, DDAA, Olho Seco, Prhemm and Spirocheta Pergoli. It's a fun record in its own right, but it's also one of those perfect snapshots of the intersections between Utopian mail art, post-punk and underground noise that flourished in the early 1980's.
