Apropos of nothing, the PE posts inspired me to revisit the Ashes album by Christian Death. Hadn't heard it for 30 years, and had forgotten how strong a song cycle it is to my ear--and how its impeccable production crystallizes that song cycle.
More than thirty years ago, I quite liked Christian Death, but later I found them rather embarrassing, which probably prevented me from getting into PE. Thanks for posting those albums here and giving me a second chance to get to know this excellent project. (I also revisited the first CD albums and they are much better than I remembered, indeed.) If you've got some of the rare PE live albums (Under Pass, Night Sweats ...), those posts would be highly appreciated.
Excellent! Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteThank you! (again!)
