A sad day indeed. I was only listening to V-2 Schneider on Monday and I thought about how sad the world is without Mr Jones and now... even more so without Florian.
73's not that great an age by modern stds. Shame he went off-grid after jumping ship from the 80s-night self-tribute act that Kraftwerk became - would have been nice to hear him on his own. RIP
TEE was the most complete and perfect expression of the schtick that made the group a crutch for every 'pop culture' writer but this very different debut is my fave of their catalogue.
Agree this is my favorite of their catalogue. Very sad to see such a legend pass. For anyone who hasn't seen it, there's a great video of early Kraftwerk at around the time of this album (they play Ruckzuck!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNoFHdlMrtI
R.I.P. Florian

ReplyDeleteAll Hail Florian
Hard to think of a man who's had more influence on modern popular music. R.I.P.
