Caroliner Rainbow Snake Tailed Waxwalker / Woodpatty The Chicken Climber - Split

Oh Caroliner! The multi-headed Apothecary's shop of hallucinogenic insanity led by chief windowpane Grux. The band that literally nobody has requested that we post. They have no consistent approach and are so far out there on their own that definitions just lose their relevance. We love them, you might not. Shit happens, we'll recover.

One of the things with Caroliner etc is the lack of a coherent history. The releases tend to be in handmade packaging in small numbers that are then released in subsequent editions ... they often turn out to be significantly (if not completely) different versions. We're going to try (and valiantly fail) to clear the waters ... I've always assumed that Woodpatty The Chicken Climber is a Grux / Caroliner offshoot but I'm not 100% ... there goes the first hurdle then.

As far as I know, this was their final release: "A 28 Minute 7" In 12" Form" that is over an hour long in total and is effectively an LP.

Released on BullShit in 2006 (Discogs says 2007 ... I don't think it is).

  2. Loved seeing this band back in the day.
But I barely remember a goddamned thing about any of the shows...

  3. Big THANK YOU for this one. I have never heard of this item and I thought I had just about everything Caroliner ever did. Hope you post more so I can scoop up anything else I might have missed.

  5. Like the others I would appreciate it if you posted more. I only have one on vinyl and don't like opening it too much because there's a very suspicious stained handkerchief in there

  6. I have every Caroliner LP and all but one 7"/12" - this isn't officially the "final" Caroliner LP, but is the most contentious on Discogs since TWO Caroliner iterations are named. Thanks for the digital versions of two of my favorite non-LP Caroliner discs!

  7. Thank you for posting all of this impossibly obscure Caroliner stuff. This one was nothing like I expected - not demented hillbilly music, way more like 1980s Nurse With Wound (drones, layers, lots of tape edits). Didn't know they did this kind of thing.

  8. PS... I saw Caroliner in 87 or 88 at University of California Santa Cruz. They were playing at Sluggos, the Porter College pizza place. Main memory of that show is a young woman in green facepaint walloping one cymbal and squawking like a chicken. Big big pupils. Perhaps it was Woodpatty?
