Jon Lord



When I was a kid it was all about Sabbath, Zep and Deep Purple.

For me, Jon's keyboards were as full on as Bill and Geezer's rhythm section. It was all about the Hammond organ.

He died today.

    I, too, am an old fart. My first musical memory is 'Hush'. This has been a surprisingly deep (NPI) moment for me! RIP!

    Under Mr. Lord's hands is one of only two places I've ever loved the sound of the Hammond organ. What others made cheesy, he made murderous.
