Biota - Biota

Not long ago, Mrs Inside described how Mnemonist Orchestra split into the largely visual arm of Mnemonists and the aural arm of Biota. It's about time we concentrated on the latter. This (wider) collective of subversive boundary pushers created as they felt and fit nowhere else apart from within the Mnemonist/Biota dynamic. They neither sit nor stand still so descriptions fall apart as the next track starts. However, just to get you started, the first (and title) track sounds like the music inside the monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey. There you go. Apparently, "the spatial processing employed in these recordings is optimally reproduced by loudspeakers positioned 1 meter or more from the walls of the listening room". Now try it on decent headphones!

LP released on Dys ‎in 1982.
