John Hudak - Mover Head

Beautiful tape mulch by one of the hometaper kings of the US 80's/90's, the prolific John Hudak. Mover Head contains two side-long pieces, each consisting of just a few sounds that cycle neatly over and around each other for thirty minutes... no build-up, no wind-down, only deeply lysergic stasis. The second side, "Participants", is a high point in Hudak's vast catalog. It seems to be made from the sounds of children playing basketball in a gymnasium. There's a specific reverberation one hears in a school gym that smears away the sonic details of squeaking sneakers and shouts of play. Can you recall that sound from when you were a kid? Okay, good. Now focus on it intently, and stare directly into the sun for half an hour. Perfect.
