Kazumoto Endo & Putrefier - Split

Perhaps counter-intuitively, Kazumoto Endo's use of silence really is quite spectacular. For good measure, he also throws in TV theme tunes and other plundered sound. Brain twirling stuff. Mark Durgan's Putrifier brings a couple of tracks of wonderfully chaotic skittering noise.

Killer Bug - Beyond The Valley Of The Tapes

Killer Bug was the harsh noise with a difference pseudonym of Kazumoto Endo. There were a string of tapes and 7"s that appeared in the mid '90s but the likes of me never stood a chance to hear them. Until this. Whilst he has been releasing wonderful material under his real name (and as half of RYKE) it appeared that Killer Bug was a "dead" project. However, there was a new Killer Bug LP released on Skeleton Dust Recordings / New Forces last year ... so maybe there is more to come.

Double CD of otherwise impossible to hear material jointly released on Phil Blankenship's Troniks and Chris Goudreau's Ninth Circle Music in 2005.

Mammoth four-hour album of roiling oscillation by UK (by way of Winnipeg) photographer/composer Cole Peters. Make sure you play this on speakers that can reproduce the bass frequencies! It's like taking a bath in warm syrup. Released by Phage Tapes in 2011 as a beautiful boxset of four cassette tapes in a limited edition of just 50 copies.

The Cracked Mirror - Damage

Charred tumbling blast from Kazuma Kubota, who also records as Bloody Letter and Cecila and runs the Noise Ninja Records label. This tape came out in 2010 on the reliably high-quality Phage Tapes label. Go support them by buying whatever they have for sale at their shop! It's really all good.

T. Mikawa & Cracksteel - Fuck My Ass Live at Binspark

Fantastic split cassette from the legendary Toshiji Mikawa (of Incapacitants and Hijo Kaidan) and the under-rated Cracksteel, recorded live in Japan on January 8, 2006. Mikawa's set has some unexpected interludes of calm between bouts of shrieking, while Cracksteel pummels without pause. Released in 2007 by Cipher Productions in Australia.

South Saturn Delta - Experience The Concreteness

An on-off live project from Hiroshi Hasegawa (Astro), Maso Yamazaki (Masonna) and Nobuko Emi (the drummer in Tsurubami, The Seventh Seal, Drop Pow and Tsuru No Ko). She isn't credited on the release so I'm not sure if she is on any of these live recordings. Anyway, it's totally appropriate that they should take their name from the obscure Hendrix track. Walls of destroyed guitars and wave upon wave of synth noise and Masonna roar ... and it makes a pretty good transition point for the noise that follows ...

Four live recordings in Osaka and Tokyo from 2003-2005 delivered by the lovely people at Cold Spring in 2007.

Asahito Nanjo, Makoto Kawabata, Plastic Crimewave (aka Steve Krakow), former Ruins bassist Sasaki Hisashi and Acid Mothers drummer Shimura Koji. Three live recordings from a North American tour in 1999. The title gives the clue to the psychedelic rock excesses that await.

LP jointly released on Galactic Zoo Disk and Eclipse Records in 2003.

We have had to change file hosts many times since we started in 2009.

Most of the older links are undoubtedly dead. If we were to try to keep every link going there would literally be no time for new posts.

Given that we have an untold number of things that we think need to be heard, it's not possible to do both.

Some things may be re-upped but (as always) we are unlikely to pay any attention to "anonymous" requests.

Entertaining (rather than desperate) requests may stand a chance but don't bet on it!
