Ah, there's nothing like a good old-fashioned postal split/collaborative 90's noise CDR! So satisfying. It does the 'ol earholes some good to get back to basics like this. In the case of the cleverly titled "Untitled" CDR, the collaborators behind the DoD pedals hail from sunny Fresno, California and Houston, Texas. Tender Love, aka M. Headache (say, I don't think that's his real name!), is the guy behind the Inner Space label that issued the album in a run of 100 copies in 1999. Tactical Eradication Function's mother calls him Kevin Novak, who you might know as the guy who runs the Pitchphase label and is a sometime member of Black Leather Jesus. So, you get two tracks of both guys together, then some of Tender Love on his lonesome and two of just TEF. It's noise comfort food... like a casserole.
Zbigniew Karkowski - Choice Of Points For The Application Of Force
I found Zbigniew's work through his colaborations with other people ... and there are many magnificant examples.
This is possibly my favourite of the releases under his own name.
This was relaesed on Ytterbium in 2000 and was recorded live at the Wataraium Museum of Contemporary Arts in Tokyo on the 9th of December 1999.

Zbigniew Karkowski - Hear
A 40-minute marathon of crunchy digital synthesis that came out in 2001 as a CDR in an edition of just 100 copies. Released on Alienation, a label run by Akihiro Shimizu/Thirdorgan.
Zbigniew Karkowski - 1958–2013 RIP
Yesterday, Polish composer Zbigniew Karkowski succumbed to pancreatic cancer. Karkowski studied composition with Iannis Xenakis, Olivier Messiaen, and Pierre Boulez, and became a frequent collaborator of Masami Akita (Merzbow), Tetsuo Furudate, Dutch sound artist Edwin van der Heide, Atau Tanaka, and Andrew McKenzie (The Hafler Trio). The torment of sound engineers around the world, Karkowski enjoyed intentionally destroying expensive PA systems before his extremely loud (and usually punk-rock brief) concerts. Today, we'll remember him for his music.
Forced March - Forced March

Macronympha - Mugwump Reformer
Confused? You will be!
With an obvious nod to Mrs Inside's "Mugwump Reformer Remixes" post from earlier today. The "Remixes" release actually predates this release. The former was from 2006 on Audio Dissection whilst this CDr was released (in an edition of 30) by Rodger Stella on Mother Savage Noise Productions in 2008. This features reworked material from the "Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania" LP from 1995.

Urdwyg the Golderr - Cassette Psychic Volume 1
Urdwyg The Golderr is the work of Darren Wyngarde (aka Filthy Turd).
This is a self-released tape from 2012. Apparently each one is recorded on recycled tapes which means that they are all of different lengths so that each copy is unique.
My copy clocks in at 50 minutes.

Orgasmic Response Unit - Dissonant Love
Are you in the mood for half an hour of quality noise complete with the sound of multiple marching steel bands falling down a very long lift shaft? You are? Well, you've come to the right place!
Orgasmic Response Unit are Luke Tandy (who records as Being and has been in Wasteland Jazz Unit) and Nate Tandy (aka Diaphragmatic).
The only other ORU that I have is a double C20 on the genius Phage Tapes. They sell their wares via discogs and you should check it all out here.
Anyway, this particular C30 was released on Amnesia Program in 2012.

Macronympha - Mugwump Reformer Mixes
If you're anything like me, you've often thought "Gee, I like Macronympha... but I wish they made an album that was one song over and over again with slight variations. That would be the best!" Well, Merry Christmas my friend... someone in Pittsburgh has been reading our minds. Now you can experience the joy of listening to one Macro tune, following by the same tune at half speed, followed by the same tune at a different speed, etc. Holiday fun for the whole family.

Last Rape / Bizarre Uproar - Collaboration
For ages, I've been trying to figure out where I'd stored a bunch of rips. I tend to allocate randon names to folders and lose track of where I put things.
Anyway, I've just found the folder where I had stashed this one ...
A long-gone self-explanatory C46 released on Pasi Markkula's Filth And Violence in 2008.
