Various - Ata Tak: The Collection Box 4 - Ripening

"You fucking elitist cunt. I know you're using mega just to fucking spite me."

That is an entertaning observation recently left as a comment for the first Box. Anonymous obviously. Dessicated spunk bubbles are always anonymous ... why is that? Hang on ... maybe it's an uber-intellectual way to make me always use mega? Oh, the psychic and existential confusion that such a comment generates! What am I to do? How will I sleep safely at night knowing that somebody is unhappy? Yeah, I'll stay with sarcasm. Mrs Inside can speak for herself but we have always worked on utilitarian principles here. Art on the least intrusive filehosts ... and you get it for (erm) free unless you cost the time spent for clicking a button. Don't get me wrong, I genuinely don't care if some tosspot out there in the world is mildly inconvenienced. However, it does make me happy to publically acknowledge the creative genius of the person who spent their own time sending us that piece of wisdom. Bravo!

Back in the "real" world ... you get two albums by Der Plan (who I increasingly love), two by Pyrolator (that are naturally very good) and one by Thirteen. They are apparently Lost Gringos but I can't get past the first two tracks. In my opinion it is fucking awful and explains why der Hoffmeister thought it was OK to wear a suit covered in fairy lights rather than allow us to remember him as posterity intended: filmed in ultra slow motion to avoid his belly and tits jiggling about too much whilst we waited for the improbably proportioned ladies to appear.

In all of the excitement, nearly forgot to say that it's a five disc set from Suezan Studio in 2013. Looks as though they halved the edition to 300 by this point ... a taste not acquired by their customers perhaps. It's not MP3.

you probably think this post is about you

Maybe they're trying reverse psychology to get you to keep using mega, since it's flat-out better.

These are wonderful boxes, thank you so much for all of your work on this site. I have learned so much. And I'm sorry some people are so mean.

Holy shit. What plankton! You've got the right attitude and thanks, sincerely, for another fantastic post.

Not meaning to cause you to dwell on stupid things, but how is MEGA elitist? Giving out 50gigs free seems rather egalitarian to me. Not to mention that it easily one of the superior services.

And just throwing this out there, but isn't fucking elitist cunt the dream of every het-boy and lesbian girl?

Thank you very much for this post in particular, and the content of your blog in general... Lots of discoveries!

Haha typical anon chode. Check the ip address so we can know whether he was at the US Capitol riot, or voted for Brexit. Guarantee it's one or the other.

thanks lots for another great comp!!! dedicated follower of your fantastic blog for over 3 years now (and counting...)

Whoa. Is that troll serious? Let us be clear: you are downloading free music from a blog. We owe you nothing. If you aren't getting exactly what you want for no money, then you think you're a victim... of "socialist" "proto-fascists"?! Who deserve to get our "asses beaten"?! Gosh. Seems like a disproportionate reaction, eh?

If you want to download this music, that's great. If you don't like the file-sharing platforms we use, that's your call. You could always go BUY these albums. In fact: go do that, troll. But take a deep breath first.

Also maybe step away from your computer. Find a sunny spot and enjoy a nap. Drink some calming lavender tea, you entitled baby.

Badgerstump and I do this for our own fun. When it stops being fun, we'll stop doing it. And this bears repeating: we owe you nothing. We have no customer service desk or complaints line because you're not our customers. We're just having a laugh here, indulging our music obsessions in public. Join us for the ride or don't.

LOL fucking hell. What an utter baby. Waaaah you're not giving me my free music properly. Absolute galaxy brained entitlement.

Thanks for running such an amazing blog for all these years - it's really appreciated. You guys have introduced me to so much amazing stuff. Please ignore the pond life.

@ anon, *sigh*, tisk-tisk-tisk-tisk.... Yes, this blog mocks you, life mocks you, BWAAAHAHAHAHA! Next...

badgerstump 10 March 2021 at 18:30

No

The proper response is complete and utter indifference

We'll just carry on doing what we feel like doing until we stop enjoying it, and then we'll walk away

Nexist's comments are not worth the time of day either, as he himself is an Evolian fascist.

Thank you for sharing the Ata Tak boxes, that is a truly marathon effort! As to the anonymous individual with the bee in in his / her bonnet who complained about Mega, that's the internet for ya, there's a loser in every bunch, and as you folks said, there's nothing to stop people from buying a copy if they do not like the filehost you have chosen to use.

The problem with large files over around 700mb hosted on Mega is due to how they use encryption one has to install their Megasync app to download and it appears once one has downloaded 5gb, their app deactivates and one gets a message to pay for their pro service.

As Mega are on record for using a keylogger to collect login details from users including login details for cryptocurrency accounts, I was not about to install their app on my main computer, so I built a fresh OS on a spare PC to use to install their app.

I was able to get boxes 2 through to 5 but ran out of trial before I could get box 1. However that is not a problem as I have hard copies of the three Der Plan albums and Pyrolators Ausland which in my humble opinion is along with the Liaisons Dangereuses album one of the best albums of the era... timeless stuff which truly grooves and all the more special when we consider they did it all prior to PC based musick. As to Lost Gringos, I can live without that one, they are only files after all.

badgerstump 2 April 2021 at 11:45

with megasync ... it doesn't stop it just times-out. if you leave it there, once the time limit has passed it just restarts where it left off and you get all of whatever it was.
