Ornette Coleman Trio - Live Manchester Free Trade Hall 1966

David Izenzon (who played many times with Ornette, Bill Dixon and Don Cherry amongst others) on bass, the brilliant Charles Moffett (who played with the likes of Frank Lowe and Joe McPhee) on drums, alongside the majesty of the earthbound Sun-Ra creating an entirely new language.

This is far from the skronk assaults of people that came in his wake but it arguably wouldn't have been possible without him ... or maybe it would have just taken a lot longer.

Just over ten years after this gig, Sex Pistols would rip another hole in Manchester's space-time continuum on the same street.

An "unofficial" double CD that remasters a radio broadcast of the night's events. It's not MP3.
