I Think That I've Thought Enough!

I've got to say that having two years of time and effort erased in one second broke my heart. I needed a bit of "me time" in order to (as Mutant Sounds so eloquently put it) lick my wounds.

If I'm a pirate...piracy is in really bad shape. The mission is the same. Songs from under the floorboards...music you would probably never have heard before...seriously limited releases that disappear into private collections, played once or twice and shelved forever...links to artists and labels...and some things that you will hate but may become your new favourite thing...or some things that will just irritate you!

If I ruled the world, this stuff would be pumped out to infants to raise them away from popular "culture".

Thanks to the people that felt strongly enough to post a comment of encouragement. Especially Aaron...that one meant a lot! Big love (as always) goes to David Payne for giving me the Über-supportive / optimistic shot in the arm that I really needed. There are others and you know who you are! And...the three people who joined after the blog was killed...how's that for hope over expectation!?!

In a few days, I'm planning a post that will probably dislocate the lower jaw of the noiseheads amongst us. At that point, the January 2012 and December 2011 posts will also be back up. Please understand the work that has already gone into posting what has been deleted. Requests for other re-ups from "anonymous" and "guest" are liable to be completely ignored. Get Engaged!

Even so, we live in uncertain times and I'm loathe to put too much time in when filehosts are likely to disappear one by one. The subtext is clear...there's an american election coming and the big-money backers are flexing their muscles. In doing so, they will take out people like us!

Either way...we start again...and again...and...

That's all folks?

Yeah...Megaupload has been taken down!

Not convinced I can be arsed with reuploading everything and switching filehost and all that jazz!

I need a bit of time to think about this. If I don't come back...I hope you enjoyed the ride whilst it lasted!

God Bless America

Luasa Raelon / Envenomist

Requested re-up from (unbelievably) 22 months ago. David was one of the first artists that I approached directly to post his OOP stuff...and he is a thoroughly nice man! Never did get that compilation list though.

In the words of the man himself..."David Reed has been producing heavy electronic music under various monikers since the year 2000. He currently records under three active solo projects, luasa raelon, brittle foundries and envenomist. Envenomist is sourced solely using synthesisers to produce a minimal industrial ambience heavily influenced by 80's Industrial acts and the European synth scene of the 70's. Luasa Raelon is a far-ranging death industrial/dark ambient project dealing with narrative themes and using whatever materials are at hand for sound and textures to create the requisite material. Brittle Foundries began as music concrete/academic project but has journeyed into territories of desolation and despair while retaining a subtle beauty. Also active in Nightmares with Jon Canady and Mark Solotroff. Past work with Starlight Fleecing, Rocco DiPietro, Larry Marotta, the Avant Collective, Jason Zeh, and Mike Shiflet."

All of this is OOP...David runs his own label (Snip-Snip Records) and you can buy the releases still available here and check out the latest news here . David has said he will give me a list of his personal favourite works/tracks to post as a compilation type thing. I have loads that is still in print (and therefore can't post) so have heard nearly everything...it would make for some fantastic listening!

Gotta admit I've never heard Brittle Foundries...or seen any for that matter...

Finally...SS Envenomind is a 3-way collab between the guys behind Spine Scavanger, Envenomist and Hive Mind, btw...

Hair Stylistics / Yoshio Kuge / Atsuhiro Ito / ??? - Live:Album

Another three cdr set from 2010 this time. Again three hours plus of mayhem!

Yoshio Kuge is the punk/underground drummer who has played with many Japanese underground groups including Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Masami Shinoda Unit and Les Rallizes Denudes amongst many others.

Atsuhiro Ito makes use of fluorescent lighting (which is also an element of his art installations) in the creation of an original musical device called the optron. He is also active in a number of musical outfits, one being Optrum, the explosively loud "extreme optical noise core band" consisting of Ito and drummer Yoichiro Shin.
