Final Trauma Recordings

FTR are a damn fine label based in Newcastle in the UK run by Keith Mitchell who records as Inhibition, White Walls, Unit 731 and Deutsche Christen. First came on my radar when I bought the Inhibition split with Kylie Mynoise last year from Lea Cummings' Kovorox Sound label.

Keith offers (almost) the entire catalogue of 50 (and counting) releases as free downloads but I highly recommend buying the physical relases...it sounds better and the packaging etc really is high quality.

Go check it out...try then buy!

Music Should Heal

This is Ontayso. This is their Project 24 Hours...erm...project. Ontayso are Mexican Esther Santoyo and Belgian Koen Lybaert. Largely, this would be called ambient but there are strands of dub, techno and IDM. This is your favourite headspace mixed with the occasional music in your favourite horror flicks.

D'ya know those times that you're ripping because some fuckwit rules your life? This is the music that creates the space where you can feel yourself again...and develop a strategy to save the world ... or kill the bastards.

Released between 2006 and 2007, the 24 discs were gathered together in late 2007 with a bonus disc...tune in...turn off...think on!

Various - Grind Madness At The BBC

Superb collection of Peel Sessions from bands that flew out of the Earache stable. When Earache turned up in the mid 80s, they were an absolute revelation, introducing a slew of underground UK hardcore bands to these ears! These sessions capture the main early players at their best. Later termed as grindcore...it was always punk as fuck to me.

Earache are still out there bursting eardrums at will...if this floats yer boat, check them out here
